Shigeru Moroizumi is an artist who has been introducing artwork using scale-less thermometer since the 1990’s. Fujiwara asked Moroizumi to produce a new piece of work for this exhibition. The liquid climbs up in reaction to human body temperature but we do not know how much that is because there is no scale. This thermometer measures; then what is indicated by that liquid ? Touch the bottom of the glass tube and the liquid climb up and down according to temperature. In other words, colors move. Viewers are free to determine what these moving colors represent and what it means when it comes to a halt. Please choose from the 10scale-less thermometers of various shades and touch the thermometer of your favorite color. When the liquid stops moving, mark that spot and write the date next to it. If you’d like, you can also write in your feelings or thoughts that ran through your mind during the process.
